When I first thought of the exchange I wasn’t exactly sure what it was supposed to look like.  We live during very divided times.  People divide over religious beliefs, socioeconomic conditions, political values, and often a blend of all three. Yet each different group seems to have a claim on the “right” way of doing things, and knows exactly who’s “wrong”.

Exchange is about presenting a better way forward than simply dividing every time we hold a different perspective than someone else. Every day we have a choice to make as we enter into the exchange of ideas going on all around us.  We can choose to seek to understand the point of view of others, or we can simply present our side of the story, never stopping to think that maybe somebody else might have something valuable to add.

Exchange is challenging all people to embrace the tension of a diverse society by seeking to understand the exchange of ideas going on all around us. We do this in order to seek truth, examine culture, and ultimately understand what and why we believe.
